The casino game of roulette consists of a wheel which contains the numbers 1 to 36, alternating between red and black, and 2 green spaces labeled 0 and 00 (American roulette). The numbers are placed round the wheel in a specific, but not sequential order. The wheel is spun in one direction and a ball is spun in the opposite direction along a circular track on the wheel. When the ball slows down, it drops into one of the numbered pockets.

The player places a bet on a specific number, a range of numbers, odd or even, or red or black to place a wager on which pocket the ball will drop into. The pay out varies according to the number of odds of the bet.
