Online Blackjack Overview

In Blackjack, each player plays his hand independently of the other players at the table and the aim is to get a higher total than the dealer without going over 21. Each player, including the dealer, receives two cards. Each player in turn decides whether he would like another card (“Hit”) or would not like another card (“Stand”) until he has gone over 21 (“Busted”) or has a card total that he feels can beat the dealer.

Once all players have played their hand, the dealer plays his hand according to specific rules. If the dealer has less than 17, he must take cards until he is either above 17 or is busted. If he has over 17, he must stand. If he has a soft 17 (a hand that is made using an ace and a 6), he must hit or stand according to the published rules of the site or table.
